Bristol-based MCS specialise in the design, installation and delivery of building services engineering solutions. With an impressive client list, it was important to create a site that was highly accessible to their current and future visitors, whilst reflecting their design-led, innovative ethos and reinforcing their emphasis on high standards.

Providing an overview of the entire site, a striking homepage enables the visitor to delve straight into the content. The full-screen hero image highlights an example of MCS’s quality project work giving an immediate visual reference – and all other pages feature a similar full-width header image, delivering a cohesive browsing experience.

Below the home page hero image, cornerstone content immediately informs visitors about the company, followed by two click-through buttons to services and case studies. Below this we incorporated four prominent illustrations with text excerpts capturing the core values of the company.

Further design features work harmoniously to create a sleek and contemporary look across the site, including the company logo (which we also designed) as well as a carefully selected colour scheme to complement this. A slick navigation bar across the top of the page uses slight transparency, allowing the header image to flourish, then turns fully opaque and becomes fixed in position once the page is scrolled. The main navigation also incorporates a drop-down menu to direct the visitor quickly to specific sub-pages.

The case studies section showcases each project, with typographic overlays highlighting the project’s key attributes. Each project links to a corresponding detail page, complete with key project information and embedded image galleries which use a clean pop up lightbox.

The clients page showcases a clean, informative overview of client logos in full colour for an impressive visual impact. Using full colour brand logos establishes a sense of familiarity for the visitor and enhancing credibility for the company as a whole.

With chronological links aided by excerpts and imagery allowing click-throughs to read more, the news page keeps visitors in the loop with company updates and events. This optimises the opportunity for communication, promotion and engagement, whilst the regular updating of content is beneficial for SEO.

A contact page incorporates call-to-action links, enabling direct communication with the company via FaceTime/Skype, as well as a user-friendly contact form. An embedded Google map shows the visitor where the company is based. The footer incorporates certification and partner logos for added credibility and includes links to the contact page and privacy policy, as well as social media channels.

The MCS website is mobile-friendly, amalgamating all site content seamlessly to mirror the stunning desktop look, for optimal on-the-go browsing.
