Education Bridge are a charity in South Sudan, the world’s youngest nation, working to improve access to quality education. Their website update needed to demonstrate the powerful impact their charity is having on the country’s young people. It also needed to generate more enquiries for the charity and encourage more donations, to further their mission.

A bold new look
The first task was to improve the brand’s visual identity, which included a fresh logo redesign. With such an impactful and bold ethos, it was crucial that the website felt as dynamic and energetic as the charity. Brand consistency is essential for charities that depend on the support of their donors.

Givebutter for smooth, integrated donations and forms
Our donation plugin of choice is Givebutter, which allows donors to use e-wallets for a smoother transaction. We know that any point of friction or hesitation can cause donors to abandon the donation or lose trust, which is why it’s so important to make the process as simple as possible. Read more about this in our recent blog comparing many of the popular donation plugins today.
Givebutter also powers the site’s contact forms, which feed straight into the Givebutter CRM, so donor and enquiry data sit in one place. During the transaction, donor’s are given an opportunity in the format of a simple drop-down to choose where their funds go. This is a tiny step in the donation journey that invites the charity’s audience to get more involved, and a feature that we love.

Education Bridge wanted to generate more interest and funding opportunities from their website, which meant improving their search rankings and SEO. Accordions across our WordPress websites help with exactly this, as they allow charities to answer specific questions and better optimise their wording for searches. We love accordions from a design perspective, but they’re also a useful tool for optimisation.
We also built a new gallery view for the flexible blocks on this project, giving Education Bridge a ‘shop window’ to browse whenever they’re building new pages.

70% of children are out of school in South Sudan
That’s the highest proportion of out-of-school children in the world. This website displays the scale of what Education Bridge is building – two Greenbelt Academy campuses in Bor and Juba, over 1,200 students, and a curriculum built around peace as much as academic excellence. Paired with their new logo, the site now gives visitors a clear, credible way to understand their work and crucially, to support it, whether that’s through an enquiry, a donation, or simply sharing their story further. We’re excited to see what Education Bridge get up to next.
Our mission is to help charities, non profits and NGOs look excellent online.
