Key reasons why we joined Creatives For Climate’s global network

In December 2024, Winter Design joined Creatives For Climate, a global network of creative professionals and agencies committed to aligning their influence with climate integrity. It felt like a natural step for us – a way to act on the values we’ve long tried to embed in our work, and to connect with others who are thinking seriously about the impact of creative industries on the planet.

We made a pledge to demonstrate our commitments

To join Creatives For Climate, you must agree to their Community Commitments, which all work towards the common goal: to transition creativity from promoting pollution to scaling climate solutions. We signed the pledge to;

  1. Implement a ban on fossil fuel clients
  2. Adopt anti-greenwash and truth-in-advertising standards
  3. Advance implementation of the UN-backed “serviced emissions” framework

Creatives For Climate brings together thousands of designers, strategists, writers, creatives, and agencies who want to make climate action part of everyday decisions – from the clients they take on to the stories they help shape. The network spans 90+ countries and provides training, tools, and frameworks to help members work with integrity, avoid greenwashing, and push for systemic change.

We support the guidance in their Anti-Greenwash Guide

Since joining, we’ve already taken part in workshops like the Greenwash Watch Starter series, which has been really practical for spotting and unpacking misleading claims, marketing spin, and the subtle ways language can make climate responsibility feel like an individual problem rather than an industry one. It can be hard to remember we’re on a collective mission sometimes, so collaborative spaces such as Creative For Climate’s hub can be really uniting.

Mission-aligned jobs and opportunities

We’ve also made the most of their jobs page to encourage applications from like-minded creatives who want to work somewhere that stands for something beyond profit. Connecting people who share these values feels like an extension of the network’s core mission: creating a community that prioritises climate integrity and influence, not just convenience or commercial gain.

We saw the benefits in connecting and collaborating with other members in the community.

One thing that keeps coming back is that the clients we take on, the stories we help tell, and the campaigns we build have real-world consequences. Joining this network is just one piece of how we’re trying to act in line with our values. We’ll continue sharing our findings and progress along the way, but are always open and grateful to those who help us improve.
