Rewilding Mycology website

Rewilding Mycology, founded by David Satori, is a non-profit organisation dedicated to the ecological importance of fungi. Working with conservation charities and landowners, Rewilding Mycology are paving the way for sustainable ecosystems through education, community engagement and research.

Upon arrival to the website’s homepage, the visitor embarks on an enchanting journey into the world of fungi, with stunning full-screen images presented in a carousel slideshow, along with striking text captions and calls to action. Scrolling down the page we’re greeted with bite-sized information presented in an original yet accessible layout, inviting us to explore more.

Rewilding Mycology’s website is packed with beautiful photography, fascinating information and links to relevant external resources. The colour scheme is inspired by earthy tones, each hero image features a dark overlay depicting low-light woodland areas but also serving a functional purpose: ensuring the overlaid text is contrasting and therefore legible.

The entire site benefits from being optimised for mobile browsing (AKA responsive), ensuring positive user experience across all device types.

Founder David Satori features on the Mossy Earth podcast, which visitors can read about in the News & events section. We’ve included direct links to Apple Podcasts and Spotify taking visitors directly to the app or site depending on their device.

We designed this website with learning and interaction in mind, focusing on the careful balance of text and images to allow visitors to seamlessly move through the pages without information overload.

Wether you’re a biodiversity expert, or curious to find out more, we recommend checking out Rewilding Mycology.
