Simon Winter
Founder

Simon founded Winter Design in 2014, which was the evolutionary progression of his freelance design career. He now oversees projects, keeps clients and team members happy and focuses on the ongoing running of the business.
When he’s not at his desk Simon is often immersed in DIY projects with a particular fondness for restoration, giving a new lease of life to well made things. The restoration process secures a legacy for good design and craft, the activity itself is therapeutic and the whole process benefits the environment. His current project is a 1951 Series 1 Land Rover 80″.
Simon loves exploring the beautiful Somerset countryside on walks with the dog, as well as travelling further afield for scuba diving, and road trips across Europe.
He also loves keeping active including climbing, mountain biking and badminton.

Sophie Dimitriadis
Account Manager

Sophie is a Senior Producer with a background in news and documentary, specialising in human-interest films and archive-led history series. She’s always been drawn to people and their experiences, bringing a fresh perspective to every project she explores.

She’s a clear communicator with strong people skills, attention to detail, and a thorough understanding of client requirements.
Half Greek, she’s happiest in the summer, by the sea. Outside of work, she enjoys countryside walks, tennis, spin classes, good food, and spending time with family and friends.

Silvia Kiama
Strategic Partnerships Manager

Silvia brings a strong background in strategic partnerships, fundraising and business development, with experience supporting social impact organisations across the health, climate, humanitarian and community development sectors. She has worked with a wide range of mission-led teams to develop partnerships that support long-term growth.
Having collaborated with remote and international teams across Africa, Europe and the US, Silvia is highly adaptable and brings a thoughtful, globally minded approach to her work. Andrew Macaulay-Brook
Technical Lead

Andy has a BEng in Computer Science and has been building and hosting websites since 1995, which is before some members of our team had even started school… He is an extremely skilled and knowledgeable technical WordPress developer, being committed exclusively to the WordPress platform. If there is a solution to a WordPress problem, not only will Andy provide a solution, he’ll provide the most effective and efficient one, AKA the best one. He just knows how do web things the right way, and Winter Design would not be the business it is today without his input over the years.
Andy keeps chickens, but is yet to succeed in teaching them to write HTML or CSS. He brews beer and wine, and on special occasions, celebrates his Scottish roots by wearing the Ancient Gunn tartan.
Made of good old intellectual stuff, Andy reads in his spare time, researches his family tree and breaks ciphers.

Simi Zeko
Designer

Simi is a true creative cat. As a designer he’s obsessed with unique and interesting typography, both being inspired by it and creating it himself. Simi pushes boundaries in his creative work, whether that’s web design visuals, brand identity design or any given piece of branded material.
His creativity extends way beyond the Mac though: Simi is a self-taught electric guitar guru and makes music in his free time. He also builds custom bicycles and designs new paint jobs for them.
Simi’s skateboarding ability has been described by Red Bull as “pure Olympic form” – when the sun is shining Simi catches air at Brunel Way pump track, amongst many other spots in Bristol.

Carrianne Priddy

Carrianne’s work is clean, contemporary and accessible, with great consideration to user journey and user experience.
When she’s not in the office, Carrianne enjoys hanging out with the family, hitting the trails on her bike, snowboarding and travelling.

Norbert Krzykwa
Developer

Norbert is a self professed code freak and is incredibly detail focused. He’s a wise WordPress developer – always providing professional and informed guidance to ensure a healthy balance between creative features and website performance, resulting in optimal user experience.
Norbert is comfortable creating custom WordPress themes, plugins and features but is also familiar with many of the frameworks on the WordPress platform, which basically means he’s able to fix just about anything.
Norbert has been coding since the 90’s, he builds sites efficiently and always stays on schedule. He’s interested in new ideas and latest technologies but will always sidestep gimmicks.
Outside of work Norbert is a keen pétanque player, likes keeping active (skiing, hiking, cycling, tennis and golf). Honourably Norbert and his dog volunteered as a human/dog search and rescue team in the Fire Brigade.

Abbie Merritt
Communications Lead

Abbie is a fantastic storyteller, specialising in photography, film making and writing.
From a young age, Abbie has been drawn to the outdoors, the natural driving force for her work. She grew up in a very rural space, surrounded by the odd and unwanted animals that landed on the doorstep of their smallholding. Nowadays, Abbie loves working on commissions that allow her to return to animals (mostly dogs) and outdoor related topics, in whatever medium suits best.
Outside work, Abbie loves walking, climbing and looking for puddles big enough to swim in. She’s become a big fan of cold water dipping, particularly in the mountains, and takes every opportunity to go.
Abbie works for us on a freelance basis and you can view her great work on her website here.

Victoria Shaw
Operations Lead

Victoria has over 12 years’ experience streamlining operations and automating processes for startups, scaleups and established businesses alike. From regulated industries to creative companies, she brings clarity to chaos and builds systems that just work – reducing admin, saving time and making life easier for everyone.
She’s worked across everything from pharma to padel clubs, and knows exactly how to turn a messy process into a smooth, scalable machine. If there’s a smarter way to run things, Victoria’s probably already tested it, refined it and shared a how-to for it.
Outside of work you’ll catch her practicing her golf swing, doing a park run or getting her steps in around the Cheshire countryside.

Simon Blackbourn
Developer

Simon has been developing with WordPress for 20 years so he knows it inside out. He specialises in full site builds, often with lots of custom functionality and development, ranging from custom database design to integration with third party services and APIs. His guiding principle is that no matter how complex a website, it should be easy and accessible to use by the site owners and by the visitors and users.
He has developed and maintains several global, high-traffic WooCommerce stores so is deeply familiar with the whole WordPress ecommerce ecosystem, from development through to choice of extensions, hosting, deployment, and ongoing optimisation and conversion techniques.
To say Simon is pedantic about design and code would be the understatement of the year! You won’t find a misaligned pixel in his builds, and all his code is written to the latest standards, to ensure it’s future-proof and maintainable.
As an antidote to his many hours in front of the screen, Simon can be found out in all weathers exploring the landscape and ancient stone circles of nearby Dartmoor. He is the founder of The Dartmoor Collective, a group of artists who publish books and put on annual exhibitions, and a keen black and white photographer.

Moss
Junior Project Manager

Moss, half Welsh Sheepdog, half Border Collie, is named after the British racing legend Stirling Moss, and averages 100 miles per hour for every task he undertakes. He’s somehow managed to persuade Ian the postman to bring him a gravy bone treat along with the post, which is his reward for not eating the print proofs when they arrive.
Moss often day dreams of driving through Italian countryside in a 1955 Mercedes-Benz 300 SLR, stopping off at selected Agriturismi, to sample their home cooking and cool off in the pool with an Aperol Spritz.
His natural herding instinct makes Moss a formidable project manager, tying up loose ends and making sure everything is running smoothly. He is fluent in Italian and Welsh.
